Thank you Gerry.

I am not sure of the answer to your question, but what I know is that it is very easy to go along to get along.

I would like to point out, that resistance will require letting go of prejudices. I was asked yesterday if the independence movement in Alberta was a Christian Nationalism Movement. My answer was, definately not! In fact, I see no religious component.

It is actually a Populist Resistance movement. When I look at the rank & file of the movement here are some examples of the people I see.

lots of Eastern European Immigrants who lived under Communinism.

Indigenous people

A woman of Egyption Palistinian Christian descent

White Canadians (which is what the media think the entire movement is.)

Lots of couples in mixed marriages (White Korean, White Asian, etc.)

Lots of farmers

Lots of oil workers

Lots of small business people

No academics

No Trade Unionists.

What they have in common is that the Alberta Independence movement is working & small business class, and has no trust in elites. It is a populist movement, which should be what is expected based on Alberta’s populist history.

In other words, they are a Class movement with no Marxist leanings.
